Residential Solar Incentive Program Information

An incentive reservation form must be completed and signed by the member and received by Sulphur Springs Valley Electric Cooperative, Inc. (SSVEC). The member will be placed on the Sun Watts incentive reservation list until there are sufficient monies to fund the incentive amount. The reservations are placed on the reservation list based on a first come first serve basis. When the incentive monies to fund the system become available, the member will be notified and has a 30 day period to begin the installation process.

SSVEC does not pay incentives for grid tied systems that include batteries or back-up generators. Batteries and generators are allowed for off-grid systems. For a waiver to this policy, prior approval must be obtained from the SSVEC Member Services Officer.

Sun Watts Green Contribution Program

Members may elect to contribute additional dollars on their bills to be used to fund various renewable energy programs.

Federal and State Tax Credits
For the most current information regarding Federal and State Tax credits, please consult your tax advisor or contact the IRS and AZ Department of Revenue.

Residential Photovoltaic Systems

To qualify for an Incentive from SSVEC the system must qualify as a Net Zero Facility. This means size your system so you can produce all the kWh you expect to use over the year. Under the Net Metering rules you get the most value from your system when it is properly sized. In this case bigger is not better. You can contact SSVEC and ask for a NET Zero sizing report to help you determine what size system is best for you.

Incentives:
SSVEC pays a One Time Incentive (OTI) of $0.25 per DC watt up to a maximum of $2,500 per meter.

For more information please go to our website. http://www.ssvec.org/programs/energyREST.php

Residential Wind Systems

SSVEC will pay a one-time incentive of $0.10 per watt with a residential maximum of $1,250 and a commercial maximum of $2,500.

For more information please go to our website. http://www.ssvec.org/programs/energyREST.php

Solar Water Heater Program

Solar water heating makes a lot of sense in sunny Arizona. SSVEC will pay $0.50 per kWh of the first year savings. First year savings is determined by the testing data of the OG-300 report. Only OG-300 systems qualify for incentives.

Non-Residential Solar Incentive Program Information

The SunWatts Commercial Rebate and Performance based Incentives:

For grid connected systems, SSVEC will pay an incentive of $0.25 per DC watt up to a maximum incentive of $5,000 per meter.

If the Commercial customer chooses to install a system that is larger than the customer’s connected load and does not qualify as a “net meter facility”, the excess energy will be purchased by SSVEC under a negotiated Purchased Power Agreement and the system will not qualify for an Upfront or Performance Based Incentive.
