Residential Solar Incentive Program Information
IMPORTANT: Please contact SSVEC prior to starting any renewable projects as the SunWatts incentive program has reached its mandated spending limits and a incentive reservation form is now required.
An incentive reservation form must be completed and signed by the member and received by Sulphur Springs Valley Electric Cooperative, Inc. (SSVEC). The member will be placed on the Sun Watts incentive reservation list until there are sufficient monies to fund the incentive amount. The reservations are placed on the reservation list based on a first come first serve basis. When the incentive monies to fund the system become available, the member will be notified and has a 60 day period to begin the installation process.
SSVEC does not allow batteries or back-up generators for grid-tied systems due to a variety of reasons. Batteries and generators are allowed for off-grid systems. For a waiver to this policy, prior approval must be obtained from the SSVEC Member Services Officer.
Special option for those members who reserved a incentive under the 2009 program:
If you have a SunWatts incentive reserved under the 2009 program we will still honor the old incentive of $4.00 per watt (up to 50% of the system cost). But there is a provision in the plan that will let you forfeit your 2009 reservation and convert your incentive to the PBI option, which will let you collect up to 60% of the system cost.
Sun Watts Green Contribution Program
SSVEC will continue to offer our Sun Watts Green Power Contribution Program. In this current program, members may elect to contribute additional dollars on their bills to be used to fund various renewable energy programs.

Residential Photovoltaic Systems
To qualify for an Incentive from SSVEC the system must qualify as a Net Zero Home. This means you produce all the kWh you expect to use over the year. Under the Net Metering rules you get the most value from your system when it is properly sized. In this case bigger is not better. You can contact SSVEC and ask for a NET Zero sizing report to help you determine what size system is best for you.
Incentives:
SSVEC pays a One Time Incentive (OTI) of $2.00 per DC watt up to 40% of the system cost on systems of 10kW or smaller. The customer may also choose a Performance Based Incentive (PBI) which will pay up to 50% of the system cost over time. Systems of 10kW and large qualify for PBI only.

Solar Water Heater Program
Solar water heating makes a lot of sense in sunny Arizona. SSVEC will pay $0.70 per kWh of the first year savings. First year savings is determined by the testing data of the OG-300 report. Only OG-300 systems qualify for incentives.

Other Non-Solar Residential Incentives: Sun Watts Residential & Small Business Revolving Loan Program

The loan caps will remain at $8,000 for residential and $20,000 for small businesses and can be no more than 25% of the cost of the project. Loan amounts up to $10,000 are repayable over five years and loans in the amount of $10,001 or more will be repayable over 10 years.
